Was the Titanic really in our carefully plotted search area? If so, surely something would have shown up on our monitor screens by now. Were we looking in the wrong place? Would we return empty-handed?

Your answer should be Doubtful. The narrator isn't sure about what they're doing. They don't know if they're looking in the right place, and don't understand why they haven't seen anything yet. Hope this helps!
