moles of silicon = 14/atomic wt. of silicon = 14/28 = 0.5mole.

Apply the formule :
[tex]n = \frac{m}{M} [/tex]
[tex]n= \frac{14}{28.1} [/tex]
[tex]n = 0.50 mol [/tex]
