remember (ab)/(cd)=(a/c)(b/d) basically you can move around them also [tex] \frac{x^m}{x^n} =x^{m-n}[/tex] so remember that the first number hast to be greater than 1 and less than 10 [tex] \frac{8.82*10^5}{9*10^2}= ( \frac{8.82}{9} )( \frac{10^5}{10^2} ) [/tex]= [tex](0.98)(10^3)=(0.98)(10^1)(10^2)=9.8*10^2[/tex]
