Frequency by definition is the speed of light divided by wavelength. We use the speed of light because radiation is part of the electromagnetic spectrum.

(3.0 x 10^8)/(6.84 x 10^-7)
3/6.84 = 0.438
10^8/10^-7 = 10^1

= 4.38 s^-1
