Peer pressure can ofetn lead people, and in particular teenagers, to engage in unsafe sexual behaviour. Some of the reasons for this are:
1. A desire to belong in a particular group.
2. A fear of being left out, or on missing out on something everyone else has experienced.
3. A desire to demonstrate courage or maturity.
4. An inability to say no to the pressure to conform.
5. The assumption that a behaviour is not dangerous if everyone else engages in it.
