If humans were to get genetic modification, perhaps to make them stronger, faster, or even smarter, there would be great inequality going hand in hand with that. The rich being able to buy more, and the less well off not being able to buy any. The rich would get even more rich, and those who are not, would not. Overall, while in science fiction novels this may seem cool, in real life, it would lead to destruction of our world.
